Evaluations

     I provide comprehensive and individualized evaluations to determine the current communication or literacy needs of each client as well as his or her potential to improve these skills. 
     Evaluations typically begin with the review of a case history form (completed by the client, family member or caregiver) as well as previous evaluations, treatment plans, Individual Education Plans (IEPs) or other relevant documentation.  Data is then gathered regarding the client's communication and/or literacy skills through observation, informal assessment and standardized testing.  
    At the end of the evaluation session, results and recommendations are shared with the client, family and caregivers present.  A comprehensive evaluation report is then written and sent home to the client and to his or her physician.  This evaluation can be shared with other relevant personnel by the client or his or her family including doctors, therapists, school staff etc.

Treatment

     At the start of therapy, treatment goals are discussed with the client and his or her family and caregivers.  After collaborating, I will produce an individualized Plan of Care with specific treatments goals that target the client's determined area(s) of need.  After the start of therapy, Progress Reports will be provided to the client and his or her family and caregivers as well as his or her physician regarding progress towards treatment goals every three months.  
     This practice provides treatment in the follow areas:

• Articulation Disorders (speech sound errors)
• Fluency Disorders (stuttering)
• Language Delays and Disorders
• Language Learning Disabilities
• Childhood Apraxia of Speech
• Aphasia
• Cognitive Communication Disorders (due to dementia, stroke, TBI,         post-concussion syndrome etc.)
• Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
• Reading and Writing Disabilities
• Tongue Thrust Remediation 
• Social Pragmatic Disorders

The client's treatment goals can be in one or more of these areas.  Treatment sessions are generally on a weekly or biweekly basis for 1 hour or 1/2 hour sessions.  However, treatment is very individualized and can be tailored to each client's needs.

Consultation

     Consultation with caregivers and family members who bring the client to treatment and evaluation sessions happens at every visit.  However, additional consultation time with other providers or caregivers (including school staff, other therapists, doctors etc.) can be arranged on an individual basis.

Billing

​At this time, I do not bill clients' insurance companies directly for therapy.  All services are private pay only, and all fees are due at the time of service.  However, I am happy to provide you with a monthly Super Bill.  This documentation may allow clients to submit the charges on their own behalf for reimbursement through their insurance company.  For more information see my Payment Policy.
